PURPOSE:To provide a letter composing method arranging tastefully input letter row in an arrangement area so that a separation inhibit letter row is not divided. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic part 1 adjusts a space between letters of an input letter row so that the total length of the input letter row becomes identical with the whole of the total length of lines each in an arrangement area and letter positions each are stored in a memory part 30. Then line end positions each in the arrangement area are stored in the memory part 33. The adjusted letter positions each and the line end positions each are compared with each other, a pair of points for proposed division of the area are selected in relation to the line end positions each and the positions are stored in a memory part 34. When the line end position is situated at a separation inhibit letter row, a leading letter position of the letter row and a leading letter position of the next separable letter row are taken as the points for the proposed division of the area. The point for the proposed division of the area where the largest difference is generated in a letter space among the whole letters in this connection is found out of a group of the points for the proposed separation of the area and the other point for the proposed separation of the area making a pair with the point for the proposed division of the area is decided in order on the line end position. |
