PURPOSE:To provide a non-coat base fabric for air bag, a high-density woven fabric excellent in lightness, flexibility and storability, and improved in mechanical properties represented by esp. tear strength, air permeability and flame retardancy, woven with a water jet loom of high weaving efficiency. CONSTITUTION:The objective base fabric for non-coat air bag consisting of low air-permeable high-density woven fabric >=2000 in cover factor and < 0.5 cc/cm<2>/sec in air permeability, has the following characteristics: (1) the respective warp and weft synthetic fiber filament yarns making up the fabric are interlaced so as to have interlacing points at intervals of 10 50 mm in water; (2) oil pickup: < 0.1wt.%; (3) comprised of fibers selected from nylon 66, nylon 6, nylon 46 and polyethylene terephthalate; and (4) the fineness of the filament yarn making up the fabric: <=500 denier and that of the single fiber: <=4 denier. |
