Multifunctional alarm system with especially domestic application capable of detecting a wide variety of events which may arise at a place, such as the presence of intruders, gas, smoke, fire, vibration, damp and similar, which comprises a central unit which comprises a microprocessor 1 which processes and executes the functions of the system based on programming parameters which are entered into the said microprocessor by means of a panel 2, the system having a series of sensors capable of detecting the alarm events. The system utilises the installation of the electric mains both for supplying its units and to transmit the signals which they interchange in an encoded manner. Each unit of the system comprises an independent supply device destined to ensure a minimum operating time in the case of failure of the electric energy supply in the mains. <IMAGE>
