The invention has discovered a moving belt in the road surface next to a pump in a petrol station. 3 cars may be positioned on this belt. When one car has filled up with petrol, the belt can be advanced by one place by means of a push-button. If the time required to fill up and pay is deemed to be 2 units of time, 2 or 3 time units are now available, as desired, to remain at the petrol station while the flow of one car per unit time remains the same. If more moving belts are installed in a herringbone pattern, the second and the back car can drive off at any time. This results in an arrangement of the pumps parallel to the motorway, with the cash desks behind them. At the cash desk, 3 amounts have to be visible, displayed via a 3-position rotary switch. If cars drive off without paying, this can be signalled via photoelectric cells and rotary switches.
