Hollow thermoplastic bodies as elements for the formation of cell structures, consisting of spherical bubbles or micro-bubbles are prepd. by extrusion of a tube which is filled with gas under pressure and welded in gas tight manner at the two poles. Pref. hot-plastic material is extruded from a narrow bore ring nozzle and filled with gas to required size from an opening inside the nozzle.
