Process for cleaning glass or other smooth surface comprises the application of a liq. compsn. having a cleaning action and of hot low pressure steam which converts the liq. cleaning compsn. by physical and thermal means to cause immediate loosening, dissolution and dispersion of the dirt, combined with the use of a flexible squeedgee blade mounted on a (hand held) device which removes the cleaning liq. contg. the dirt in soln. and/or dispersion and dries the surface.
