PHOSPHASE ADSORBENT APPLIED ON DIATOMACEOUS EARTH

The adsorbent is designed for capturing water vapours and heavy metals from solutions or serves as a drying agent under particular conditions. It has improved absorption ability and greater porosity. The adsorbent is made on the basis of coarse porous substrate (diatomaceous earth,silicagel or alumina) and active phase on it from phosphase substance added in quantities from 0.001 to 4 wt.%. A new type of active phase is applied, due to which the porous adsorbent has improved adsorption properties. The adsorbent is produced by the impregnation of coarse-pore substrate with the phosphasen compound after which the composition is heat treated at temperature lower than the temperature of decomposition of the respective phosphasen compound.
