This system includes a tank (1), an inlet orifice (11) for pouring water into the latter, a cap (13) for closing this orifice, an outlet orifice (12), a first mounting plate (16) having two openings, and a second mounting plate (161) having two slots; a hook (2) having two protuberances (21) which can engage in the two openings in the first plate, so that the hook is removably connected to the tank and can be fitted to various types of flower pots; a plastic tube (42), the lower end of which extends into the tank via the outlet orifice, and the upper end of which is to be inserted into the soil of a flower pot; a wick (41) in the said tube; and a trowel (3), having a flexible strap (33) that can be inserted into the slot in the second plate and is provided with a fastening means for holding the tube in position, this trowel making it possible to insert the tube into the ground and providing an additional fastening means for fixing the tank to the flower pot. <IMAGE>
