A hatch construction for trap doors and the like, said hatch construction comprising a frame (2) to be secured to ceiling boards (1), and a hatch (7) covering the hatch opening formed in the frame. The frame of the invention is formed of a light metal profile so as to comprise a flange (5) outside the frame (2), fitted against the lower surface of the ceiling board (1) and similarly, a flange (6) inside the frame (2), defining the hatch opening. The hatch (7) is separate from the frame (2), and it can be arranged to be supported by the frame (2) on the flange (6) located on the side of the hatch opening.
