Device for monitoring thread, especially in textile technology

A device is described for monitoring thread, especially in textile technology, which is characterised by the use of a radar sensor. This is preferably a coherent continuous wave radar (1) which operates in the microwave range from about 1 to 100 GHz. A common transmitting/receiving antenna (2) is connected to the radar, and irradiates the threads (3). By comparing the transmitted and reflected radiation, an output signal (Ua) is formed which can be used for controlling the corresponding installation or machine. <IMAGE>
