<p>A substantially nonmetallic golf cup (10) provides a metallic sound indicating that a golf ball (22) has dropped into the cup (10). A nonmetallic carriage (20) having a metallic portion (50) is suspended above a metallic plate (40). A golf ball (10) dropping into the cup (10) forces the carriage (20) to be displaced causing the carriage metallic portion (50) to make contact with the metallic plate (40) thus producing the metallic sound. A transparent cover (24) on the carriage (20) is hermetically sealed for protecting advertising material (56) contained within the cover (24) for viewing when approaching the golf cup (10).</p> |
