A carton and the method of folding the closure flaps for adhesive application and closing the carton. Gusset side flaps are first folded out and the major flap to which the side flaps are connected is folded in. This forms a virtual coplanar surface to which adhesive is applied. Next the gusset side flaps are folded in and under the major flap to which they are attached. The second major flap is then folded down over the first major flap. Two cut-score lines which operate in conjunction with a grip tab integrally connected to one side flap provide an easy-open feature which makes a triangular opening.
