AGENT FOR INDUCING SERUM CSF ACTIVITY AND ITS PREPARATION

PURPOSE:To provide an agent for inducing serum CSF activity having low side action and effective for remarkably promoting the hematopoietic function and provide a process for the preparation of the agent. CONSTITUTION:This serum CSF activity inducing agent contains an oxidized glutathione or its pharmacologically permissible salt or a fraction containing oxidized glutathione and separated from a water extract of Panax ginseng as an active component. This serum CSF activity inducing agent can be produced by separating a fraction containing oxidized glutathione from a water- extract of Panax ginseng using at least one of the separation means comprising cation exchange chromatography, anion exchange chromatography, gel-filtration chromatography and reversed phase HPLC.
