PURPOSE:To rapidly restart path guidance without any need for resetting a driving destination, etc., by storing a needed part out of the driving path scheduled for path guidance in a non-volatile storage means out of the driving paths scheduled for path guidance when the path guidance is interrupted halfway. CONSTITUTION:The path guidance device schedules a driving path from the current location of a driver's own vehicle which is recognized by a position- determining device 14, to a preset driving destination. When the path guidance is suspending by the operation stop, etc., of the device body, an optimum driving path which is scheduled by a path scheduling device 16 is stored at an external storage 28 for the driving path from at least the interruption point to the driving destination. After that, when the interruption is canceled and if the setting of the driving destination does not change, a data processing device 18 performs path guidance based on the optimum driving path stored at the external storage 28, thus preventing information needed for the path guidance from being lost due to the interruption of the path guidance. |
