It has been found that cycloalkyl carboxylic acid esters of the general formula WHEREIN N DENOTES ONE OF THE NUMBERS 1, 2 OR 3, Y represents oxygen or sulphur and R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 each represents hydrogen or various substituents possess biocidal activity, preferably for combatting weeds, members of the class Arachnoidea and bacteria and fungi.
