PURPOSE:The radical copolymerization of a specific alkyl acrylate and alkenyl (meth)acrylate produces acrylic rubber vulcanizable with sulfur that has good compression set. CONSTITUTION:The copolymerization of (A) 90-99.5 parts by wt of at least one of alkyl acrylates having 1-8C, preferably 2-4C alkyl group selected from ethyl acrylate, propyl acrylate, and so on and (B) 10-0.5 parts of at least one monomer selected from alkenyl (meth)acrylates of the formula (R1 is H, methyl; R2 is 1-3C alkyl) is conducted in the presence of a radical initiator at -10-100, preferably 2-80 deg.C. |
