The invention relates to a profile-like connecting element consisting of various materials. The connecting element may be provided with additional fastening locations which, in turn, are intended to receive other elements, e.g. installation parts, carriers of installation parts, coverings (e.g. metal covering sheets), claddings (e.g. for machines), cabins, sports equipment or agricultural apparatuses. The object of the invention is that it is possible to assemble claddings (e.g. construction-machinery claddings) as well as sheet-like, frame-like or casing-like structures, cabins (e.g. driver's cabins) and coverings therefrom. Furthermore, the invention can fulfil a plurality of individual tasks; e.g. it can be used as a) corner connector, b) height profile, width profile or depth profile c) welding structure for claddings and/or cabins, d) folding structure for claddings and/or cabins, the connecting element exhibiting at least one receiving surface or a reinforcement element which, in turn, can receive other connecting elements.
