An expanded structure for use in heat exchanger or component manufacture. The structure having passages or cells formed by electron beam or laser welding juxtaposed sheets of material then deforming the material between such welding to created desired passage or cell configurations. Each structure being formed of several layers of suitably welded and deformed juxtaposed sheets.
