PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal display device which securely suppress unevenness of luminance and looks like a uniform surface through visual sensation. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal display device is equipped with a liquid crystal display panel 8 in front of a surface light source unit consisting of a diffusion plate transmitting the light source light emitted from a light source, and is constituted by arranging a thin film transistor(TFT) substrate, consisting of a glass substrate having TFTs, and a filter substrate, composed of a glass substrate which has a light shielding black mask 2 cutting off direct light to the TFTs to prevent a light leak to adjacent pixels and a filter transmitting the diffused light from the diffusion plate, opposite each other; and The quantity of the diffused light transmitted through a filter is corrected by adjusting the opening rate of an opening part 3 as an area where the diffused light is transmitted through the filter, by the light shielding black mask 2 according to the luminance on the front surface of the liquid crystal display panel 8. |
