PURPOSE:To provide an electrochemical device with high operating cycle performance by using a lithium nitride metal compound as an electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:A lithium secondary battery is fabricated with a negative electrode 1, a nickel mesh 2 which also serves as a current collector and holds the negative electrode 1, a separator 3, an electrolyte 4, a positive electrode 5, a mesh 6 which also serves as a current collector and holds the positive electrode, a cover 7, a case 8, and a gasket 9. As an active material of the lithium secondary battery, a lithium nitride metal compound is used. An electrochemical device with high operating cycle performance can be obtained. The lithium secondary battery with high charge/discharge cycle performance, an electrochemical display device with high operating cycle performance, and an electrical double layer capacitor with high charge/discharge cycle performance can be provided. |
