<p>PURPOSE: To permit an automobile to start smoothly even on icy roads by causing an automatic clutch interposed between an internal combustion engine and a transmission system to be closed to such an extent that when the automobile is at standstill, the clutch transmits slight torque causing creep. CONSTITUTION: A brake fluid circuit 5 is provided with a signal generating cylinder 1 and a signal receiving cylinder 2 and a hydraulic circuit in an automobile 6 is provided with a motor-driven pump 8, a pressure accumulator 13, a directional control valve (proportional valve) 15, a signal generating cylinder 16 and the like. The signal generating cylinders 1, 16 are provided in connection with each other in such a way as to have a common piston rod 17, and the piston rod 19 of the signal receiving cylinder 2 is linked with a clutch operating lever 20 to control engagement and disengagement of a clutch 23. When an engine is rotating and an accelerator pedal is not operated with the automobile at standstill, the clutch 23 is controlled to be closed to such an extent that it transmits slight torque causing creep, thus assuring quick-responsive start.</p> |
