<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the toner which quick enables initiation of the frictional electrification and provides an always stable high density image by using an isoquinoline derivative as a charge controlling agent of the toner. CONSTITUTION:This toner contains at least an isoquinoline derivative as the charge controlling agent. Examples of isoquinoline derivatives approriately used as this charge controlling agent are 1-phenyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline derivatives represented by the formula I or II. In the formulas I and II, each of R<1> to R<3> is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an alkoxy or amino group; (n) is an integer of 1 to 3; any X is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an alkoxy, amino, allyl, aryl group or a halogen atom and optionally the same or different; A is an anion. One of such isoquinoline derivatives is added to the toner by using one of two methods, namely by incorporating it into the inside of the toner or by adding it to the outside of it.</p> |
