PURPOSE: To provide an high luminance electrodeless discharge lamp with less conduction of harmful heat and superior lumen efficiency by holding the electrodeless lamp between two thin shell type power supplies. CONSTITUTION: An electrodes capsule 12 which has a shaft 14 and a closed room 16, containing chemical dopant material-gas mixture to be activated into a light-emitting condition by radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation is supported by a mechanically supporting joint 22. The electrodeless lamp capsule 12 is held between the first power supply 26 with a radio-frequency power joint 64 and a second power supply 58 to form an electrodeless lamp 10. In this way, the electrodeless lamp 10 is restricted from capacitive adverse effects and reduced in flickering and arc distortion. The power supplies 26, 58 are prevented from overheating and positional changes due to softening of solder. |
