PICTOGRAPH NAMING FOR PEN BASE COMPUTER SYSTEM

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a file naming system setting a handwritten mnemonic image to be the name of a file by providing a step inputting the mnemonic expression of the file and a step directly storing the name of the mnemonic expression as the name of the file. CONSTITUTION:On-line handwritten information is given to a computer by user input. The computer system receiving user input executes a stroke normalization step by a block 12. Thereby, the first input sequence of a point is processed for transformation to another coordinate or rotation in a standard direction if necessary. After user input and optional selection storoke normalization step, a block 14 executes a feature extraction step. A feature is the spatial position or the number of points as input but furthermore, it sometimes includes a speed, a direction or curvature information. An inputted and processed pictograph image is matched with another image stored in a pictograph name data base 18.
