PURPOSE:To set group control addresses of indoor units only by pressing a switch of a remote controller without the need of address setting work and restriction on connection form of signal transmission lines which connects the remote controller and the indoor units. CONSTITUTION:When an automatic address start switch is pressed and indoor receivers 41a, 42a and 43a receive an address setting commencement signal from a remote control transmitter 15a, indoor transmitters 21, 22 and 23 begin to transmit address setting demand signals. Communication monitors 31, 32 and 33 compare the order of priority of the setting demand signals and the indoor transmitters of indoor units, which output competition defeat signals according to the comparison results, stop transmitting the setting demand signals once and then try again to transmit the address setting demand signals. The indoor transmitters of the indoor units, which do not output the competition defeat signals, receive setting signals correspondent to the address setting demand signals from the remote control transmitter 15a and acknowledge the addresses.
