The present invention provides a method of cleaning equipment which comprises immersing the equipment to be cleaned in a liquid solvent and then subjecting the equipment to one or more cycles of pressure and/or temperature variation, typically while the equipment is contained in a pressure vessel (2), returning the pressure and/or temperature to ambient conditions and then removing the equipment from the vessel (2).
