The subject matter of the invention is a shaft nut for a wheel bearing having a hub (7) which is supported on a shaft limb (2) such that it can rotate, holes (13) which cross one another orthogonally being arranged in the free end of the shaft limb (2) and axially running slots (15) for the insertion of a locking bolt being arranged in a crown (14) of the shaft nut (10). In order to enable setting of the bearing which is reliable and at the same time also fine, it is proposed to construct the division of the slots (15) in the crown (14) of the shaft nut (10) in an asymmetric manner.
