PURPOSE:To obtain an insulin-like growth factor-I derived from fishes of Paralichthys of Pleuronectiformes. CONSTITUTION:An insulin-like growth factor-I derived from liver of flat fish is elucidated and the m-RNA is separated and purified and cDNA coding an amino acid sequence of the growth factor using the mRNA as a template is collected and the gene is cloned using a gene recombinant technique to manifest the gene. The insulin-like growth factor-I obtained by using the gene recombinant technique is effective in promoting growth of animals, especially fishes.
