PURPOSE: To obtain a head-box which controls the weight per unit-area of a paper web without harming the fiber orientation cross-sectional profile by attaching white water feed lines to a prechamber upstream of a turbulence generating region in a specified state. CONSTITUTION: A head-box has a prechamber 1 in which the direction of flow of the pulp suspension is indicated by an arrow, a turbulence generating region 2 adjoining the prechamber and an outlet nozzle 3. A number of feed lines Z are attached to the prechamber of the head-box and white water having a material concentration of C1 is jetted in accordance with the opening degree of a valve V1 . The feed lines are attached at an angleα0 at which no change takes place in the total volumetric flow near to the downstream of the feed lines despite the additional feed of the white water.
