METHOD FOR PROVIDING PAGE NUMBER AND PICTURE RECORDER

PURPOSE:To prevent a page number of an original from being deviated from a page number of a recorder side when an original is recorded with division by providing a hierarchical page number comprising a master page number coincident with a page number of an original and a slave page number allocated in the print order of the recording paper to the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:When the original size mixing mode is designated, an original size sensor 106 senses the original size and a picture read section 101 reads a picture of an original. A control section 108 counts the sequence of the read original and the original size is inputted and a hierarchical page number comprising a master page number coincident with a page number of the original and a slave page number shared in the order of print outputted onto recording paper with division is decided and transferred to a picture processing section 102. The picture processing section 102 reads by dividing the picture data and picture processing is executed and a page number is synthesized at a predetermined location of picture data based on the decided hierarchical page number.
