PURPOSE:To execute data demodulating operation always at an optimum state by changing a demodulating condition in accordance with a receiving state. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 17A retrieves the existing position of a station concerned from service data in map data stored in a CD-ROM 23 by using broadcasting frequency in received FM multiplex data as a key. During the period of traveling, a distance from the station existing position up to a receiving position detected by a vehicle position detecting device 24 is periodically calculated and whether the vehicle is within a broadcasting service area or not is judged by judging whether the distance is <50km or not. When the vehicle position is within the service area, the CPU 17A commands an error correcting circuit 15A to execute error correction only in the horizontal direction to demodulate data, and when the vehicle is outside the service area, commands the circuit 15A to repeat error correction in both the horizontal and vertical directions to demodulate data. |
