PURPOSE:To perform demonstration playing only when a person is present nearby by generating a musical tone based on the automatic playing data of demonstration music when the presence of the person in the neighborhood of an electronic musical instrument is detected by a sensor. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 10 reads out demonstration playing data stored in a ROM 11, and sends it to a sound source 17, then, prescribed demonstration playing is performed. The sensor 24 is provided, for instance, at the front part of the cabinet of the electronic musical instrument, and detects whether or not the person is present in a prescribed range from the electronic musical instrument. An analog signal from the sensor 24 is converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 23, and is sent to the CPU 10 via a system bus 30. When the presence of the person in the neighborhood of the electronic musical instrument is detected by the sensor 24, the musical tone is generated based on the automatic playing data of the demonstration music prepared in the ROM 11 in advance, and when the absence of the person in the prescribed range is detected, the generation of the musical tone is stopped. |
