Range measurement device (distance measurement device)

A range measurement device of the type which uses a laser beam has a laser diode in order to produce laser beams. A scanning mechanism directs the laser beams towards an object and comprises a polygonal mirror at which the laser beams are directed and by which they are reflected. A receiver mechanism receives the laser beams which are reflected by the object. A control unit measures the time duration which is required for the laser beams to reach the object and come back again. The polygonal mirror is arranged such that it can rotate about a first axis and can be pivoted about a second axis.
