The invention relates to an entry method and an entry apparatus for computer terminals for the purpose of protecting against covert observation and for ensuring the privacy of a user. The object of the invention is to specify such an entry method and an entry apparatus, it being possible for the entry commands to be perceived exclusively and solely by the user himself, and the operation of the terminals being configured simply and reliably for all users. The object is achieved according to the invention by means of an entry method according to which a video camera (10) is used to copy manually executed operating actions of the user, which proceed on a touch-sensitive entry surface (6), into a virtual image (5) present on a viewfinder screen (1) which is arranged at the level of the user's head in such a way that no other person can see, and the user observes his operating actions in the virtual image (5) in order to achieve in a specific manner certain positions in the virtual image (5), the positions arranged in the virtual image (5) corresponding to certain positions on the touch-sensitive entry surface (6), and the entry taking place by means of pressure on a position of the touch-sensitive entry surface (6). <IMAGE>
