Image input device

An image input device comprises a table having a diffusion plate which is provided on its upper surface. Plased on this table are an object, an image input head for inputting an image of the object and for photoelectrically converting the image into an electric signal, a supporting carrier for carrying the image input head and for positioning the image input head over the table, external illuminating lamps for illuminating the object lying on the table from outside the table, internal illuminating lamps for illuminating the object, which is lying on the diffusion plate, from underneath the diffusion plate. The image input device is provided with optical circuits and change- over devices. The optical circuits are used in order to turn on both the external illuminting lamps and the internal illuminating lamps. The change-over devices optionally connect the optical circuits either to the external illuminating lamps or to the internal illuminating lamps.
