PURPOSE: To provide a new face-to-face two-pole battery. CONSTITUTION: A two-pole battery comprises a stack of plural two-pole electrodes arranged together each of which has a conductive partition wall 2 provided with a positive active material and a negative active material 24, 26 on both faces. Each electrode has a non-conductive electrode frame 6 formed around it, and has a lattice 8 which is situated on each face of the partition wall 2 and which is integrated with the frame 6, and shoulder parts 14a, 14b are formed between the lattice 8 and the frame 6. A spacer frame 30 existing between the electrode frames 6 isolates the electrodes from each other, and defines an area 32 to maintain electrolyte of the battery. Circular hollows 34a, 34b formed closely by an inside rim on each spacer frame are fitted to the lattice 8 and lock the frame 6 and a frame 30 to each other. |
