METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TAKING OF ELECTRONIC COLOR PICTURE BY USING HIGH-RESOLUTION MONOCHROME FULL-FRAME CCD IMAGE-SENSING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To obtain a high resolution color image by storing digital information corresponding to a final charge packet and processing the digital information so as to introduce color pixel information corresponding to each position of monochrome charge-coupled devices. CONSTITUTION: A monochrome CCD 64 has an array structure consisting of vertical columns 74 and horizontal rows 79 and is made up of pluralities of semiconductor storage cells 76 having gate electrodes 78. At first the entire part of the CCD 64 is exposed to a 1st color image. Then charge packets stored as the result of exposure on two adjacent horizontal rows are shifted to a 3rd horizontal row. Then the CCD 64 is exposed to a 2nd color image. The charge packets stored on the 1st horizontal row are shifted to a 2nd horizontal row as the result of 2nd exposure. Then the CCD 64 is exposed to a 3rd color image. Outputsϕ1 A-ϕ3 A,ϕ1 B-ϕ3 B..., of the CCD 64 are digitized and stored in a frame. Color information as to a specific position of the CCD array is obtained by a simple series of equations.
