PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce a layout area by discharing the charge on a word line to a grounded terminal side after controlling two sets of transistors(TR) forming word line drivers and discharging the charge on a word line to a certain extent. CONSTITUTION:A PMOS TR 12 in series to a TR 14 forming the word drivers together with an NMOS TR 14 through an output TR control circuit 18 is turned on, and the charge of the driven or activated word line WLi is discharged to an output TR driving circuit 16 side. Then, when the potential of the word line WLi is lowered to a level voltage below a driving power source voltage by a certain extent, the TR 12 is turned off, and the TR 14 is turned on by an output TR control circuit 20, and the charge of the word line WLi is discharged through the TR 14 connected to a current lead in terminal 22. Thus, the need of TR for preventing a hot electron is eliminated, and the layout area of the driver 10 is reduced remarkably, and the pitch narrowing of the word line is dealt with. Further, a ground noise is prevented by discharge to the terminal 22 side. |
