PURPOSE:To reduce chip size and the quantity of operation in a block normalization control system for normalizing fixed point data in each block. CONSTITUTION:The exponent information of fixed point data from a fixed point data processing part 1 is extracted by an exponent extracting part 2, current exponent information is compared with a minimum shift value obtained up to the preceding exponent information by a comparing part 3, the contents of a minimum shift value register 4 are updated with the smaller value, and updating information indicating the existence of updating is stored in an updating information register 5. A difference shift value based upon a compared result obtained when updating exist, is stored in a difference shift value register 6, fixed point data are shifted and normalized by a shift register 7 in accordance with the minimum shift value stored in the register 4 and the normalized fixed point data are transferred and stored in a memory 8 through a bus 9. |
