Light-guiding fibre holder and method for its production

A light-guiding fibre holder (light-conducting fibre holder, light-transmitting fibre holder) has a glass-rod lens at its one end surface, and a front end of a light-guiding fibre which is to be connected to the opposite end surface of the holder is brought into bodily connection with a spherical surface of the glass-rod lens in order to couple, as a result, the light-guiding fibre optically to an optical element which is to be provided on the side of the glass-rod lens. A housing contains a bush (socket) for inserting the front end of the light-guiding fibre and this housing is fixed on a lens holder which firmly holds the glass-rod lens, by fusing, so that the centre of the bush and the centre of the spherical surface of the glass-rod lens are in alignment.
