In the case of a piece of seating furniture convertible into a bed, its seat cushion (9) and back cushion (7) are connected to one another by a fitting, by means of which the seat cushion (9) can be swung up so that access to a bedding box (2) situated therebelow is possible, and by means of which furthermore movement of seat cushion and back cushion into a common lying plane is possible. To provide a secure support for the seat cushion, a front panel (12) is mounted to be adjustable in the horizontal and is connected, at least on one side, via a connecting arm (11) to a furniture part, in particular the fitting, capable of moving during the conversion, and is also designed to support the seat cushion (9) in the lying position of the piece of furniture. <IMAGE>
