The invention discloses a masonrywork structure comprising masonrywork blocks, in particular bricks, and masonrywork blocks therefor. The masonrywork structure is characterised in that at least one of the edges (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d) of the blocks is interrupted, between the vertical and horizontal joints, over at least part of the edge length, by a jutting-back section (22) having a depth of at least 10 millimetres. In the case of the masonrywork block, analogously at least one of the edges (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d) is interrupted, between the vertical-joint and horizontal-joint surfaces (18a, 18b, 16a, 16b), over at least part of the edge length, by a jutting-back section (22) having a depth of at least 10 millimetres. In a process for producing masonrywork blocks, the step of introducing depressions into the material strand (4) takes place, the depressions being introduced, when the material strand (4) is not yet dry, at such locations which are provided as points of intersection (6) for subdividing the material strand (4) into the individual green bricks (2, 2', etc.). An apparatus for producing masonrywork blocks comprises a pressure-exerting tool which is connected to the cutting device in a cutting station and introduces depressions into the material strand (4) in synchronism with the movement of said cutting device. <IMAGE>
