This invention relates to a balloon dilatation catheter. The balloon dilatat ion catheter comprises a first, inflation lumen (2) exte nding therethrough and having distal and proximal ends, the distal end of the firs t lumen opening into and being in fluid communication wi th the interior of an inflatable dilatation balloon (4) having distal and proximal ends, and a second lumen (3) extending coextensively wit h and exterior to the dilatation balloon.
