PURPOSE:To cut off a cut work to be higher in cutting efficiency, longer in service life and without giving any thermal effect in addition, by installing plural pieces of a projection group, consisting of plural projections, at both sides of an abrasive cutting part. CONSTITUTION:At both sides 4 and 5 of an abrasive cutting part 3, there are provided with a lot of projections 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b, 8a and 8b. Therefore, a radiating area of this abrasive cutting part 3 is wide enough so that radiability is very good. And, during cutting operation, a clearance is formed between both these sides 4 and 5 of the abrasive cutting part 3 and a cut work, so that a coolant is smoothly fed to space between the abrasive cutting part 3 and the cut work. Accordingly, a temperature rise in the abrasive cutting part 3 is checked, and any deterioration in the abrasive cutting part 3 due to the temperature rise is prevented from occurring, thus it is usable for a long period of time. On the other hand, the cut work receives no thermal effect due to the temperature rise, thus it is cut off into a good cutting surface. Furthermore, owing to the said clearance, discharge of chips is smooth enough, and no loading occurs in the abrasive cutting part 3 and, what is more, intermittent impact force is given to the cut work by these projections 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b, 8a and 8b, thus it is efficiently cuttable. |
