<p>Process for manufacturing the structure of a hollow rectangular sheet metal box C particularly of the type intended to be incorporated in a wall and capable of receiving internally a sliding door, comprising a pair of principal panels 54, a pair of side panels 70, 82 and a pair of bottom panels 76, 88. The process comprises the operations of preliminarily assembling two similar half- structures 54a, 54b each of which comprises a side panel 70, 82 and a bottom panel 76, 88 each connected to a longitudinal edge and a transverse edge of a principal panel 54.
