PURPOSE:To equalize the picture image from black picture elements with a standard diameter at a low resolution by adding micro black picture elements around black picture elements with diameters which are closer to a standard diameter at a low resolution, which are extended and interpolated by a plurality of black picture elements with the standard diameter at a high resolution. CONSTITUTION:The image data for a third line which is read from a line buffer memory 5 is transmitted to a matching logic 15 through latch parts 8, 9 as the image data for a lower stage scanning portion of the third line. At the same time, the image data is written in a line buffer memory 6, and the image data for a fourth line is written in the line buffer memory 5 from an input terminal 1, and then, the previously mentioned respective motions are repeated for the image data of each line. When it is discriminated by the matching logic 15 that a remarkable picture element which is read from a latch 11 is a white picture element, it is discriminated whether the image data for the remarkable picture element being read from the latch parts 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 is a white picture element or black picture element, and micro-black picture element data corresponding to the black picture element pattern on the top, bottom, right and left of the remarkable picture element is added to the image data, and is output. |
