PURPOSE: To obtain an oil-based and water-based adjuvant mixture giving a vaccine having high immunogenicity, sustaining the effect for a long period of time and excellent in stability and viscosity. CONSTITUTION: The objective vaccine contains an adjuvant mixture in which one adjuvant is a water-in-oil type emulsion and the other adjuvant is an immuno-stimulating glucan and an antigenic substance. As the oil component in the water-in-oil type emulsion, a vegetable oil, an animal oil or a synthetic oil is used and a weight ratio of the water to the oil is about 30/70. As the immuno-stimulating glucan,β-glucan, especiallyβ-1,3- andβ-1,6-bonded glucan derived from a cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae is preferable. The vaccine is suitable to prepare a vaccine for protecting cultured fishes from enteric red mouth disease, vibriosis, cold water vibriosis or furunculosis by using an antigenic substance derived from a fish pathogen.
