PURPOSE: To obtain a cosmetic deodorant capable of effectively suppressing microorganisms relating to body odor, allowable to the skin, exhibiting the action over a long period and having affinity to various substances. CONSTITUTION: This cosmetic deodorant contains (A) preferably 0.05-5.0 wt.% of anα,ω-alkanedicarboxylic acid, preferably a compound of formula I ((n) is 1-8) such as adipic acid or azelaic acid and (B) preferably 0.1-5.0 wt.% of a wool wax acid and a wool wax acid component. The component B typically contains about 60 wt.% of a saturated unsubstituted carboxylic acid, about <=30 wt.% of anα-hydroxycarboxylic acid and about <=5 wt.% of anω- hydroxycarboxylic acid and preferably has a drip temperature of 50-54 deg.C, an acid value of 166-170, a degree of sapanification of 175-190, an OH value of 60-80 and an iodine value of 7-12. The wool wax acid component is preferably anα-hydroxycarboxylic acid of the formula II ((n) is 7-31), anα-hydroxy- msocarboxylic acid of the formula III, anα-hydroxyanteisocarboxylic acid or their mixture.
