A pyrimidine derivative having the formula: wherein R is hydrogen atom, -CH2CH2S(O)nR1 (wherein R1 is a lower alkyl group, and n is an integer of from 0 to 2) or (wherein each R1 is a lower alkyl group), A is a chlorine atom or a methoxy group, and each of D and E which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group or a halogen-substituted lower alkoxy group, or a salt thereof.
