The invention relates to a method for granulating alloys containing silicon in which the alloy, dispersed in droplets, is sprayed into the water where it is cooled and solidifed rapidly, to the device for implementing this method and to the products manufactured by this method. The manufacturing method consists in pouring the liquid silicon alloy onto a horizontal dish (crucible) on which the stream of alloy breaks up into drops which then fall into a container filled with water, where they solidify. It is characterised in that the upper part of the container, containing coolant water and the rotating dish, is swept by a stream of inert gas, and in that the coolant water circulates in the container. Preferably, the dish is driven in a rotary movement about its vertical axis. The method applies particularly to the manufacture of granules of silicon intended for preparing silicones. <IMAGE>
